Working on the research project “Can you help me, doctor? How patient requests changed birth and death in the twentieth century”; teaching courses on history of science and on academic integrity.

Post-doctoral researcher                                            Utrecht University, Apr 2013 – Oct 2016

Worked on the research project “Heavy Matter: Fatness and Weight in the Netherlands, 1890–1940”, in which I used a mix of traditional and digital humanities methods to investigate the construction of ideas on fatness, health and beauty in public debates.

PhD researcher (aio)                                                  Leiden University, Dec 2008­ – Mar 2013

Prepared a history of science PhD thesis on the nineteenth-century Leiden anatomical collections, in which I offered a new way of understanding anatomical collections: as dynamic entities used in a hands-on manner, thus enabling continuous reinterpretation.

Assisted in writing a coordinating research proposal for the Dutch humanities, in particular the section on public confidence in the (life) sciences.
